Amazing

What seemed like a negative to my Honda Civic, turned into a HUGE positive. The Civic has a standard alpine receiver built in. This means when you want to add an aftermarket CD Changer, you have two choices:
1. Buy an Alpine changer
2. Buy a completely new stereo system.

The choice was obvious to me before I purchased the car...Alpine.

Alpine, hands down, makes the best car stereo equipment. Yes, it cost a little more, and it is harder to find, but it is well worth it.

I have been in numerous friends' cars who have installed Sony, and Clarion systems which have a tendency to skip(on very large bumps) and have been known to eat your CD's.

This is not a anti Sony, Clarion, Bose, et all epinion; they all have the pluses. However, I have never heard a CD skip(and I mean I have tried). I have inserted dirty, scratched, oily CDs without once noticing any degredation in quality. I have driven at high speeds over speed bumps(otherwise I am very nice to my car), hit potholes, everything.

A couple things to point out about the install, and one flaw in the Alpine.
First, don't install these in your trunk!!! Take a look under the passenger seat, there is a ton of room. And nobody can see it from the outside, so don't worry about it getting stolen. I just don't understand why you wouldn't want complete access to your CDs, without getting out of the car....

Now the downfall of this model. It only holds 6 CDs. The rest of the bunch, in this price range, hold 8 or 10. Not a big deal, but worth noting.

I have had no problems with this unit, and thank the stars I went with an Alpine everyday that I drive to work.
