Sony MDX-CA680X has a lot of outstanding features. The SSIR-EXA Tuner is a Sony's proprietary SSIR-EX tuner technology, which can actually adjust the tuner's bandwidth, depending on current environmental conditions such as an improved sound quality and adjacent station interference result. MBP (My Best Position) optimizes system for listener's position, one push - easy operation. D-Bass (Dynamic Bass) is a Sony's unique low frequency enhancement system, which provides up to 18dB of gain to frequencies below 75Hz, without midrange coloration or interference. CD Text feature utilizes disc, track and artist information encoded directly on the CD media. Both playback and media components must have CD Text compatibility. Shock Resistant Memory stores the audio data stream from a CD or MD in a memory buffer. If the laser pick-up mistracks, audio still flows from the buffer preventing an interruption. Minimize

A Capable MDLP Car Deck That Can Hold It's Own

Pros: MDLP capable, 50W x 4, 4 MB shock resistance memory

Cons: No flashy display

The Bottom Line: If you're looking to complete your MiniDisc system in your car, this is the final piece.

Review: This is the second car MD deck that I have purchased, the other being Sony’s MDX-C7900. There wasn’t anything wrong with the first one but being as I wanted to keep current with the new technology out there and the fact that the CA680X was MDLP...

Great for MD Lovers

Pros: High power output, MDLP, XM radio Ready, My Best Position works great!

Cons: Difficult to get face on unit, No pause or stop button on unit.

The Bottom Line: My final recommendation of this unit is for anyone who would purchase an MP3 deck to look at this MD deck as long as you are able to burn MD's.
